For a company that you are transporting chemicals and toxic materials for, you have to get a specific license for the purpose. On your CDL you would have to get the H endorsement so it could be placed on the truck at the time you pick up the material.
If you are transporting any of the commercial stuff, you would have to get another kind of dot placard to drive the truck as well. These are the basic core rules truckers follow in their lives. These rules take some time to be adapted and implemented upon and truckers have to get used to it before they start to even drive or get to know their route. In the trucking business, there is a lot of money and there are more endorsements that you can think of and most of all, it is a great job and people enjoy performing it. If they are following the dot regulations, everything becomes easier and they can be on the road without any hassle.
